prepare

Here it is, the anniversary of Katrina and we are facing another possable hurricane. Last night Steve and I went and filled up all our cars with gas as well as a 55 gal drum. Today we are are going to check the generator and we also have gotton groceries, batteries and made sure we had lamp oil. I cleaned the horses water trough and secured all the gates. ( we were woke up this morning with Manassa and Splash munching on grass over by our car port....not where they should be!!! :) ) and filled the dogs water and their little pool. We will clean out our igloos and fill those as well with water. The laundry is done, the house is clean, and we are prepared for Gusov.
WE dont know if, where or when it will come but we know its out there and we want to be prepared.
How much more should we be prepared to hear from God? Are you in a position to listen? An attitude of worship? Are you prepared for Him? A heart open to recieve and believe?
Join us as we learn together to prepare and position ourselved to Hear from God . Beginning Sept 9th at 12:00 noon the ladies lunch time Bible Study will be doing Pricillas Shires study " He Speaks to Me" Dont miss it!

camping trip 2

After leaving Gulf Shores we drove, in the rain, to our next camping spot. burchfield Branch park. It is located between tuscaloosa and birmingham up inthe hills and it is gorgeous!!!!!!!!! Dont go by your gps. Follow the camp grounds directions.

We were there for 5 night. We made friends with some of the other campers and the park attendants. They gave us fish and homemade jelly.

After a few days Ryan brought Linley and Cameron up. He left then came back the next day and spent the night too. We took the girls out on our paddle boat. That was funny ! Camerons attention span is normal for any 3 year old so by the time we got the boat in the water and the guys figured out how to stear the thing she was ready to go back to the camper.

We thank God for DVD's!

Linley loved walking around and both girls enjoyed the play ground.

We found out that Cameron loves blueberry pancakes and ate 8 of them one morning!

If you ever concider going to Burchfield keep in mind that you will have NO cell phone service and cannot get dish network on you rv satellite, and only two local channels. But you will be in an awesome corp of engineers camp ground with a beautiful lake and will feel like you are in the mountains.

We didnt want to leave!

Camping trip

On August the 8th Steve and I and the 2 little girls, Trixie and Pookie, left for Gulf Shores Alabama. We got a great camping spot close to the beach on the lagoon. Yes we did have to watch for allegators but never saw any.

It was a very relaxing time! Our spot was so quiet. We ate lots of sea food and rode the motorcycle some.

It was the girls first time ever to be on a leash. That was funny! I wish I had a video of them hopping around and trying to wiggle out of thier collars. After the first couple days they relaxed and got use to it.

We stayed in Gulf Shores for 4 night.

It took Steve a day or two himself to relax. He really needed it.

God blessed us so much with this much needed vacation.

Our Three Missionaries are Home

I know its been a while but we are finally home and are getting back into the swing of real life again. I actually wish we were still camping but life goes on and there is work to be done.

First of all, yes Hunter came home!

He called us the night he got into Atlanta ( the first ) to tell us he was back in the US and that he was sick.. He had a fevor and a number of other stuff. After taking him to see our doctor we found he had a staff infection in his foot, ( In know thats not how to spell it ) as well as A sinus infection, the remains of strep throat, and trauma to his ear drum. He is feeling much better now!

Hunter has lots of stories to tell and will answer anyones questions so feel free to ask.

He loved Thailand and hopes to return there someday.
Im having trouble posting pictures but I will try again

Alyssa and Bo returned a few days later from thier trip to India. They are well , but tired. They fell in love with the children in the orphanage ( The Asha House ) and they too hope to go back some day.

When they got home they came over to celebrate Alyssa's 21st birthday. Unfortunatly her stomach wasnt back to normal yet so they didnt stay long and she didnt even eat her turtle cheesecake. We did send it home with her though.
