Lots of stuff coming up

Check out Three Fold Ministries blog for updates on events coming up. These are ministry opportunities that anyone can participate in. Just keep in mind that if you want to come with us to the prison you have to get on the approved list. That process takes about 2 weeks so plan ahead.
Our ladies Bible study is going well. I hope to get a picture of all of us the next time we meet.
Dont let me forget!!!!!!!!!!!

1 John 1:4-5

( part 2 ) part 1 is on Threefolds blog
And these things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

For those who live way up north winters are very long and much time is spent in doors. When people are forced to be inside, without the sun, they tend to get down and depressed. A little "sun therapy" can bring some joy back into their lives.
While going through a difficult time in my life I found that going to a tanning bed seemed to brighten my day.
We are drawn to light. Can you imagine what joy and peace we will feel in heaven! No darkness at all, only light. And the light IS Jesus.

Many are saying "who will show us any good?" Lift up the light of thy countenance upon us, O Lord! Thou hast put gladness in my heart...In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For thou alone, O lord, dost make me to dwell in safety. Ps. 4:6-8

Jesus said.." I am the light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Life and light are both found in Jesus

Hope ya'll dont mind but I have more pictures to share. We just had such a great time!

Oh and I did forget to mention Ryans awesome smoked chicken! Thank you it was great!

Birmingham

We had a wonderful time in Birmingham this past weekend. We didnt get to see Rachel and Justin as much as we wanted to but we did get to see them, and we were able to spend alot of time with our grandbabies which we loved!

Justin was the best man in a wedding and his time was not his own and Rachel needed to be there with him as well.

We met them on Thursday at Johnny Rockets at the Summit then we didnt see them again until we all met for breakfast at the Crackerbarrel in Bessemmer. Alyssa, Bo and Hunter drove up Friday and stayed until Sunday afternoon.

Steve and I left on Saturday right after breakfast because we had a prison outreach that night in Angie La. ( check out ThreeFolds blog for more info on that ).

Alyssa , Bo and Hunter found out that Kelly is quite the card player!!! :) They were able to see Rachel and Justin after the wedding and again after church Sunday afternoon. They went to Brookhill Bapt.

In the pictures at Crackerbarrel Rachel wanted me to say she did not expect me to be taking any pictures so she arrived with no makeup and her hair pulled back.

I love the picture of all of us, except that Justin and Jacquelyn are not in it.

Ryan and Kelly, we really do appriciate you letting all of us stay at your beautiful home. I hope we didnt drive ya'll crazy!

And thank you Charity for taking care of all my babies! ( animals)

Gustav update

We made it through another Hurricane! This one wasnt nearly as bad as Katrina! Robert and Cynthia called us late saturday night to say they were on thier way and arrived at about 12:30am from New Orleans.
(Oh, sorry for all the misspelled words and grammar problems in the last blog.) Click on each picture for a closer look if you want to.
Cynthia is afraid of dogs so we were concerned about that but everything went fine. Steve met them in the drive way and got them settled inthe camper . We put them in there Sat. night so we would not disturb them when we got up for church Sun. morning. However, they were up and dressed before we were and came to church with us.
Sunday afternoon we all ate at Steves mom house. Ryan and Kelly and they kids were there and we had a great time! I had made a lazania ( how do you spell that? )
After lunch we came back home and hunkered down. Robert and Cythinia helped put up all the outside furniture and ladders etc.. and they moved into the guest bedroom in the house.
Gustav hit us Monday morning and it is still raining today, Wednesday. We have recieved about 5 inches in our rain gauge that Steve put out before the storm in my soon to be garden....that is the pool that Katrina ruined.
We have enjoyed lots of movies and dominoes. Thankfully we did not lose power for more than a few seconds at a time.
Hunter stayed with us until Tuesday when he left for Hattiesburg to work .
Robert and Cynthia were able to leave this morning for home. They are not sure if they will have power but Robert wanted to get back to work.
About the pictures #1 Steve and Robert doing what men do best during hurricanes, sleep with food close at hand! ( notice the bags of chips behind them)
#2 Robert and Cynthia sleeping onthe couch watching news reports
#3 Rain and wind from the front porch
On the next blog you will see Cynthia, Jack our lab happy to be in the house and the effects of the wind and rain because as Hunter remined me....you cannot see the wind.
