Deeper Still Atlanta

Im back from Atlanta and so exhausted !

I went to Deeper Still with 55 women from the Hattiesburg area including my roomy Beverly Webb. We stayed at the Wyndom hotel on Peachtree. Its really a good hotel with a nice little restuarant and Starbucks coffee served in the lobby. I was able to get my grande 2 pump iced mocha no whip, without even going outside.

We were not at the hotel much though. The conference was amazing!

I had never heard Priscilla Shirer before and loved her! She has a wonderful way of blending her personal stories with lessons from Gods word , and most of them were pretty humorous! Actually, she's a hoot!

Her story of eating pancakes from the trashcan had us all rolling!

( they were in a sealed container and never touched anything so you can relax?!?) :)

I was in shock to hear that Kay Arthur is 74! She sure doesnt act like it...she can dance!!! And boy does she know her scripture. She spoke on The calamities , and judgement coming to America if we dont do something about it and gave very good practical ways to do just that. All 7 of them ! She actually got so excited about what she was saying that she forgot to give us point #7 so the entire group of 19,000 yelled out...What s #7?

She was so touched that we were actually listening to her and wanted to know! I guess you had to be there.

Beth was...well Beth Moore! we love her! she spoke on John 1:14 and by the end of the evening we all knew it by heart and all the wonderful details of what it means and means to us individually.

The music was fantastic! Mandessa was good, Travis and the praise team were awesome!

In a nut shell, I cried, I laughed, I praised Jesus and learned alot!

Thank you Lifeway and Living proof ministries for doing this for us!

As an extra treat, Sunday morning we got to go to Charles Stanley church for the 9:00 service. They were having a patriotic service with a secret guest speaker....Newt Gingrich! He spoke on God in America's history and it was very very good. You need to watch In Touch next sunday, you will be blessed. What was really great about it is that it complimented Kay Arthurs session.

I finally arrived home around 7:30pm sunday night. As I walked in the door the phone rang, I dropped my suitcase and ran to the phone...it was Hunter calling from Thailand! I had missed his call earlier in the day and just been praying that he might be able to have a chance to get to a phone and try me again!! Thank you Lord for answering my prayer, and so fast too! My prayer went from my mind to Gods throne to Hunter and back in less than a second..how does He do that? I dont know but Im glad He can! Hunter is happy and safe! Im so glad I know Jesus. Who else could we ask, or want, to protect our children when they are out of sight then the God who created the universe and loves our children even more than we do.

Well. Im going to plopp in a chair and veg out for a while. nigh night!

We would not spend the night in a hotel, although the friday night/saturday morning thing might be hard.....we will see.
I had a wonderful time at Bible Study today! Im so glad you ladies stayed around today for a short time.
We are looking so forward to the Deeper Still Conference this weekend in Atlanta!!!!!!!!!!!
If you dont know about it, Susan, Joy Beverly and I are traveling with 50 women from Temple Baptist church in Hattiesburg to hear Beth Moore and others speak, and participate in some great praise and worship! Of course you know I will write about it when I get back!

P.S. If any of my sisters want to come from Texas for the Nov thing let me know, you can of course, stay with me at my house.

Fathers Day

How was your Fathers Day?

We had a great surprise around 8:00am. The phone rang. The caller ID said unknown name so we were not going to answer it. We had had 2 prank phone calls over night around 3:00am and were tired of the unknown. The answering machine picked up and as soon as we heard the first word, "hey" we knew it was Hunter and quickly picked up! He called all the way from Thailand to wish Steve a happy fathers day! It was so good to hear his voice.

Im so thankful we live in a time when its its possable to speak to someone on the other side of the world.

Hunter is enjoying the food over there, but asked for prayer for somethings. He said there is obvious spiritual warfare going on. Please keep him and the whole team in your prayers. He said he might be able to call again in a few weeks. They are in a village somewhere outside of Bangkok, spreading the good news of Jesus. Pray for good weather and health, and of course that many would hear and accept Christ.

In my Bible Study homework today I read about how God surrounds us and protects us as He does Jerusalem. ( Ps. 125) ( Isnt God good.....even in the details of our little lives. )

And how does He protect Jerusalem? Zech 2:3-5 " I will be a wall of fire around her and I will be the glory in her midst "

The picture on this post is of Steve and Hunter at the airport before leaving for Thailand.
On the occation of Fathers Day I want to publicly ( as public as this blog is :) ) Thank the Lord for putting Steve in our lives. He has been a wonderful example of a Godly man, father and husband! ( Where would I be if the Lord didnt love me? )
Thank you Jesus for Steve!

June 10th

Steve and I got home Sunday from our anniversary camping trip to Natchez state park.

We had such a good time!!!!

Steve was so relaxed, I havent seen him that way in a long time. No phone calls, no work, and dare I say, no Three Fold Ministry? Dont get the wrong idea, I love working for Jesus, but we too get tired! It was a much needed break after a very stressful few months. It seemed for a while that Satan himself didnt want us taking this trip! Everything that could go wrong did, and people were calling,.. asking us to do things.. etc.............. but in the end we got there and God definitly blessed us. I do believe He likes seeing His children rest, after all , He gave us the Sabboth didnt He? I will post some pictures at the end of this blog.

We took the toy hauler and pulled the motorcycle up in it. It worked out great! One of our fav show is feasting on Asphault ( food network) and we loved when he did Natchez area so we followed his lead and ate fried chicken one day in Lorman. Awesome!!!!!!!!!! then went into Natchez and ate the best donuts that I have ever had! The owner of the Chicken place said he wants to join us sometime in prison ministry, which is a real answer to prayer because just this week we got a call asking if Steve could come do a worship service on Sunday nights in the prison in Natchez. Well Natchez is 2 hours away from us. Steve agreed to doing it , I think, once a month for 4 months, but told them he wanted to find some folks from that area who would be willing to take over on a more regualr basis.

We also went to the show one night and saw the new Indiana Jones movie, loved it!

The only thing wrong with the weekend was it was too short, as all vacations are.

I heard from Hunter today! He is in Bangkok and will be the rest of this week, then they will go out to some villages. One of the girls on his team posted a video of him dancing with a chicken at training camp. Thats my boy! :) If anyone is interested in seeing it just comment here and I will send it to you. Its on youtube.

Today was Bible study day. Session 2 of Stepping Up. Ladies for those of you who missed today remember you can go up to the office any time during office hours and watch it. Today we learned the "pose" We decided next time we meet we will "pose " for the camera, so be prepared! If you dont know the pose we will teach you. You missed the Sopappilla cheesecake. Sorry, it was wonderful! See you in 2 weeks!

Its June!

Its June!!! Can you believe it?

We got Hunter off to training camp yesterday. If your interested in receiving updates from AIM let me know. I worried about him all day. He was suppose to call us when he met up with his team at the airport in Atlanta but it was 5:00 before he ever called. I wondered things like, after we watched him walk to his gate did he miss the fight somehow, could he have gotten on the wrong plane ( we ARE talking about Hunter ) could he have missed the group in Atlanta and since he had to leave his cell phone behind he couldnt call anyone.......etc.........how stupid am I?
To worry about such silly things! Its Hunter, he just didnt think about calling us until it was time to eat supper. :)
The team leaves for Thailand later this week and will arrive there on the 8th of June.
On the way home from New Orleans Steve and I stopped in Ponchatula to do a little antique shopping. ( He actually enjoys this kindof stuff ). He bought a large boxing punching bag thing for the guys at the prison and he bought us a new dining room table. The one we have is beautiful, formal and large! I had it in my house in Hattiesburg before we married. Now that its just me and steve in the house that table seems too big! It takes up 1/2 our living room. So we bought a VERY HEAVEY round oak table with 4 chairs. It is not an antique but looks like one.. It has a dark stain on it and I have already told Steve not to be surprised if he comes home from work one day and its been painted white with cute green gingham cushions on the seats.
Talking about worry, you need to read Beth Moores blog from June 1st. check it out
